Under the Sea

A walk - we were joined by Mike - a coffee - then a breakfast for two at the Kihei Caffe. The rest of the morning we got some sun at the Kama'ole II Beach.  Here are a few tidbits about the beaches in Kihei. We like the Kama'ole II Beach best because it is less crowded. We spent a lot of time in the water - it was so hot.

We were having the Kimble's for dinner but wanted to see the Maui Ocean Centre in MaŹ»alaea before we purchased our choices for our planned menu. We had lunch at the restaurant overlooking the harbour before entered the aquarium.

The cost to get in was more than any other attraction but it is well worth the money. Once you are through the entry there is a large tide pool to view both from the top and from a window so you can see the bottom. There are really good displays that give comments on the fish and the sea life around the island. Each tank had  a plethora of fish in various tanks. We were amazed at the corals. They have a display that shows how they are growing coral. Walking through a glass tunnel, you felt up close and personal to manta rays hovering above you, beside you and under you. This tank also had a variety of small sharks and other fish that Mike thought were tuna.

Our menu was to be a seafood pasta - almost seemed sacrilegious to have seafood after the wonderful afternoon we had seeing these incredible creatures. But seafood it was to be.

MENU

Spinach Salad
Carmale Macchiato and Mocha Frappucino Ice Cream
